S. Zita

A visit to the St. Zita's plants fair in a sunny day...

...Piazza dell'Anfiteatro adorned by any kind of plants...

...houses with the round walls...

...colours...

...Azaleas...

...nice shops...an event which takes place every year and the occasion for some purchases...we can also see the body of the Saint which is still intact after several centuries! A tradition for my town!
I don't annoy you telling her history this year...but if you're curious you can read my last year post!

Hi Vale! I have seen your piazza on t.v. before on a gardening show. They were touring a villa in Lucca. Owned by two men. I think it is called villa Massei. The gardens are beautiful. Have a great day gardening....Julian

We are gonna have lots of sun today, so....I'll be outside, reading my new books, getting a tan (HOPEFULLY) and absorbing the warmth, closing my eyes and pretend I am in that lovely Piazza!

Ohhhh such a nice market, there are plantmarkets her also, but they are much smaller and we dont have so many different plants to choose from. Here in my own in sweden the leaves on the trees are just beginning to show.

oh I would like such a piazza in my hometown too!! Buying flowers and meeting friends.
Makes me long for summer and late nights in the garden, outside fireplace and early mornings with my teacup....

Have a nice day!

Mmmm I can almost smell the flowers in your pictures. I would love to visit your town some day, my husband came back from Italy yesterday evening. For him it's a place to work, so he doesn't want to be there on a holiday. A petty because it's very easy when you've got someone who speaks the language ;o) So this year it will be Portugal, not the Algarve, but the aerea roun Porto. Not bad either.
Have a great day my friend, see you!

Hi Vale,
What a great event and what a special story of St Zita.
On this Piazza we drunk coffee last summer on a terass. It was the 50e birthday of my husband so it's a very special place to us!
I would love to see the market with the plants, so if we go to Lucca again someday it will be in this period of year.
How nice that you reacted on my give away and how funny to see the picture in you sidebar! Great!!!
Hugs, Jolanda
