My mother has just come back from a trip in the Naples area...marvellous places!
Naples is one of my favourite cities...stunnings monuments, sea, sun, Vesuvio, delicious food and very nice people...and the villages around are all very famous...Positano, Ravello, Amalfi, Sorrento...the isles of Capri, Ischia, Procida...many artist, poets, writers took their inspiration from these paradises..
Carl Wilhelm Götzloff 1837
Naples is very famous for its music too...when I was in Beijing, the taxi driver started to sing o sole mio as soon as he knew that I was Italian...
...and of course is very famous for pizza....
...lemons (do you know Limoncello, the typical lemon liquor???), cedars and for red horns! They're goodluck charms...Italians are very superstitious!
I give you all a virtual red horn....good luck!!!!

Hi Vale,
I've not been to Naples yet, but my husband and I spent one of our most beautiful holidays in Amalfi. This is one of the most splendid places I've ever seen! I'll never forget when we went from Amalfi to Positano by boat one calm summer night, with the lanterns of the fishing boats and the scent of the sea and the warm wind... We stayed in a hotel situated at the cliffline, with a marvelous view over the bay and Amalfi harbour. On our way to Amalfi we spent two days at Florence (extraordinary in the late August sun) and on our way back we stayed a few day in Rome and in Switzerland (Interlaken). Unforgettable!
Thank you for your kind invitation! Whenever we will pass by Lucca, I will contact you before. Looking forward to seeing you then,
hugs,
Angelika

Hey vale, mmm what good with a real pizza, our pizzas here are not real pizza. kram / Ingela.
Hello Vale
That painting is beautiful, I like the style of it. The lemon liqueur that you talk about, I have never tasted. Funilly enough, I picked up a bottle of it in our supermarket and put it back down. Now I wish I had bought it. Looks like I will have to buy it on my next shopping trip. It must have a very summery flavour! Is it sweet or a bit bitter?
Take care
