Postcards from the French Riviera!

Holidays are over...I came back yesterday night and today it's been a very busy day at work! I show you some photos I took during my Easter week end. I spent with some friends and with Paola, the friend who share with me our web-shop, a wonderful time...sun, flea markets, charming shops and delicious food!

Family memories!

Today I took a photo of some old glasses belonged to my grandmother...I use them very seldom...I never drink liquors! But I like to see them on the the small table of my living room...family memories are very important for me!!!



















Today is a very sad day...we'd a strong earthquake in Abruzzo, in the center of Italy.
A thought to all the families who suffer this tragedy.

Cotton sack and lavender hearts!

As I wrote in my previous post I finally made some lavender hearts in a cotton sack!
Different shape and different print, but the same concept!

Ceramic roses and cotton sacks!

I made these ceramic roses...they're scented with rose essence. I've decided to put them in little cotton sacs decorated with the transfers. They can be used to perfume the linen in a drawer or in a cupboard or can simply be hung to diffuse their scent in the bathroom.

































This sack is made in the same way but it's much bigger..it'large enough to contain linge, bread or anything else...

















Next time I'd like to make some more ceramic shades but scented with lavender!

Verde Mura!

There's a floral and plants exhibitions on the ancient walls around Lucca this week end! Unfortunately it's a bad weather...with sunshine everything appears better! Here they're some photos I took yesterday!

Lilac, violet, purple, mauve...

They are some of the colours I like mostly....I gathered something I have in these shades... the anemones are the result of my last trip in the countryside and the plate behind I bought at a flea market in Stockholm some years ago!


































It's a very busy week at work! I'm dreaming for a relaxing week end! There'll be a floral and plants exhibition on the ancient walls around Lucca this week end! I hope to take some photos and show you..if the weather'll be fine! Weather forecast isn't very optimistic!

Old treasures from the antique market!

I found these old treasures at the last antique market in Lucca.
The salade pottery plates are in a lovely cream colour. I like the shell shape too!
















The old biscuit tin is from a pastry shop in Florence. It's a bit shabby but it's very decorative!

Olive tree wreath!

We have lots of olive tree branches during the Easter time...I like the leaves...they have a tender shade of silver green! I've made a wreath..I'm not very clever in this kind of works, but I must try to learn! On the Sunday before Easter we usually take some branches in the churches after the priest's blessing and we use to keep them at home till the next year. This reminds us when Jesus entered in Jerusalem on a donkey and people greeted him shaking palm and olive tree branches!
















































Olive tree is the symbol of peace too...so I wish you all a peaceful and serene week end!

Cotton sacks!

I made some sacks yesterday! It's the first time I've used the transfers on the fabric! My friend Anita of Campagne Chic http://nottoshabbyforme.blogspot.com/ explained to me how to do! Thank you!!! I like the result!!! Now I've something new for my web-shop ( www.lescotrions.it)!

Some old aluminium pots and tools I found in a flea market...I like to play giving them another use than usual as a plant cache-pot or a candle holder...

Lemons harvest!

Sunny day and lemons harvest! A friend of mine has this gorgeous plant...more than a plant... it's a tree!
